Range Plant Identification Team

The Range Plant Identification Team competes at the annual Society for Range Management meeting, which is usually held in February.  Team members must identify 100 out of 200 possible plant species by family/tribe, genus, and species names and know whether plants are perennial or annual and native or introduced.  To become a member of the Range Plant ID team, you must take Range Plant Identification, Range 210, which is held every fall, before registering for Range Judging Teams, Range 400.  Range 400 is held from the beginning of the spring semester until that year’s SRM meeting.  If you are interested in joining the team or have any questions, contact Gary Larson at Gary.Larson@sdstate.edu.
