Undergraduate Range Management Exam
(URME)
The
Undergraduate Range Management Exam, or URME, is a comprehensive exam that
covers all areas of range science and range management, including ecology,
livestock production, and conservation methods through multiple choice and
problem solving questions. The URME
is recommended for upperclassmen who have taken at least one year of range
science classes. All undergraduates
attending the annual Society for Range Management meetings are required to take
the URME, even if you are already on the Range Plant ID team.
Practice sessions for the URME are held at the first part of spring
semester before the year’s SRM meeting; you may register for them under
Range 400, Range Judging Teams. If
you have any questions about the URME, contact Sandy Smart at Alexander.Smart@sdstate.edu.
